[Ember of Rage 1.6.6] AED deactivates after one turn

I've just unlocked the Annihilator class, and am testing it out on a new character. The AED talent (Steamtech/Gadgets talent 4) tooltip says that the AED will store charge for 8 turns, strongly suggesting the effect can trigger at any time within the next 8 turns. Instead, it automatically deactivates at the end of the next turn, making the talent all but useless.
