[b28, Win XP] Bugs when starting/restarting the game

These problems appear if you delete your Tome folder with all your settings and install a new beta in a clean directory:

#1: a black screen is displayed the first time you run t-engine.exe; you can't do anything but close the window
#2: the default main window size (the "Resolution" option) doesn't take into account the fact that the main window doesn't start at (0,0); you need to manually resize the window to make it fit into the monitor
#3: the background image always appears white (never made it work since beta 23 or so)
#4: the first character you will create will not be linked to your online profile if you have one from previous betas; in fact, you will not be registered at all, you won't even see ingame chat

These problems appear upon each subsequent restart:

#5: the starting position of the main window is shifted to the right and the bottom of the monitor; you need to manual reposition the window (very annoying with big tilesets)
#6: two white stripes are displayed on the top right and bottom right corners of the main menu instead of game version and online profile
