Wandering through the Trollshaws in search of Bill, I discovered a pile of goodies in a pond. Those goodies included Bill's Tree Trunk. So I checked my quest log and, sure enough, the fool drowned of his own accord.

I've had the SandWorm Queen die in a collapsing tunnel. Tunnel Worm went from the room I was in to her room, she tried to rush through the tunnel and got caught.

Now I've got a pulsing organ stuck in the sand. Guess I'll have to wait a while to retrieve it....
