Dying in one hit is often not the problem in easier difficulties. Particularly with ghoul hp. For later ones, speed is more important since getting hit at all is a bad idea. It might be stuck as a difficulty class but polishing its gimmick could at least make it interesting. Its somewhat the opposite of yeek, which is not likely to get much better either.

Direct damage with racial talents were rare before a certain dlc. That could be something to work with. It might not get far without better means to increase damage. Removing the cooldown of gnaw and giving it a chance to cause a retch could encourage use. It lowers melee damage already and I doubt the dot stacks. Melee would do better with something that actually hits hard, and casters don't want to get that close. It would be nice to use Con as a means to doing damage, and spreading the disease so freely helps as a debuff. Intentionally infecting a pet or weak summon is amusing. Given npc scaling spamming gnaw would be a nerf.

The undead races are not fresh adventurers so it could help them early on if they could get higher level skills a bit earlier through some mechanism. Consider it recalling past memories like when item identification was a thing.
