I can't be the only one to notice that Nightmare difficulty is much easier in this patch for melee classes? Everything that is not a spell seems to deal a lot less damage. Talking about levels 5-20 (Daikara boulder throws seemed to be just as deadly as before, but everything else feels trivial).

Probably to do with salmon items being better quality and rares actually appearing.

Yeah, nightmare should be closer to what it's intended to be instead of the unfair scaling with bad gear tilted towards NPC favor :)

Armor and defense both got buffed pretty heavily (armor by appearing more, defense by NPC acc rescaling and LAT) so meleeing things is going to be less painful, yes

After playing for a while with different melees I'm now sure that it's related to armour/defense buff. You can stand in the middle of a pack of 18 level rogues and receive almost no damage. The only things that you still have to watch out for are elemental/mind nukers.

I'm afraid that making Insane difficulty more fair made nightmare too easy to the point where game became boring :/

Nightmare was always easy and being able to stand in the middle of white mobs isn't really an accomplishment.

Also in 1.4.9 you could get 40ish armor to start which would render you immune to everything before t2s anyway even on Insane, but it required slightly more startscumming for impenetrable plate
