So Darkgod has stated that he is going to be releasing a new update and I figured it would be a good time to pick up suggestions for what my next run should be. To help narrow in suggestions though, I'm essentially looking to play with with a races I haven't played as much with on my next character. I'm less inclined to try out the new Possessor since I would rather way for the inevitable balancing for it to happen first - same goes for Rogue and Archer, and I'm not really interested in playing with classes that I have already done a full recorded run with or done in my own time.

So for races I'm looking for Cornac, Higher, Doomelf, Orc, or Kruk Yeti.
For classes I'm looking into Brawler, Marauder, Oozemancer, Demonologist, Doomed, Mindslayer, Solispsist, or Gunslinger.
Whether this would be for the Embers of Rage Campaign or the Age of Ascendancy is obviously related to what race people think I should run with.

Doomelf doomed seems like the obvious choice, ehehe.

... or not. Depends on how much you like playing doomed... might suggest avoiding the class if you haven't actually tooled around with it a little, since they're still kinda' a... clumsy? For lack of a better word. Class. Doomelves are a decent enough race for 'em, though.

Oozemancer of some stripe'd probably be nice. Fairly easy to play, kinda' flashy. Cornac, probably, to have an easier time opening tinkers if yeh felt like it -- iirc it actually wouldn't be that bad of an idea, since oozemancers already like cunning, don't have that much in the way of things to stuff generics into, and ultimately (can, anyway) get a fair bit of use out of melee, as well, so they get more or less full access in terms of potential slots. Another summon (hand tinker of some stripe) and some extra mobility (rocket boots) probably couldn't hurt, either. Plus they're innately antimagic, which means the injectors can be nice. If you wanted to do an EoR run, they mix pretty well with orcs, too -- the built in respen is quite welcome for the class, since they're pretty focused damage type wise, plus it's a willpower primary class and the racials scale with that.

Doomelf solipsist could actually be good too, I think, and arguably more play friendly than doomed. Class can be pretty debuff-y, and doomelves feed into that. As amusement goes, could try a yeti mindslayer, roll with a thermal build. Mindslayers love tinkers, too (extra weapon slot == extra tinker slot, class mainlines wil/cun anyway and can probably spare generics), so there's that.

... demonologists and brawlers are both pretty fun, too. Race for 'em out of that lot is kinda' eh, though. Doomelf's always pretty strong thanks to pitiless et al, cornac's always middling but cat point est, orc and yeti's both pretty a'ight. Higher's... there. Yeti rolling around pummeling things to death sounds kinda' amusing, really.

Go make a higher brawler.
While there is no synergy whatsoever there is something inherently funny to an upperclass human challenging every bear, plant, and demon he encounters to a bout of fisticuffs.
When else are you going to play higher anyway, and brawler is strong enough that it won't be too bothered.

Best played when thinking your character has a british accent and with the sheer badassery skill active (need DG for that)

So some initial thoughts - Orc Oozemancer or Yeti Mindslayer look like some good ideas for EoR

On the AoA side of things, a Higher Brawler or Doomelf Solispsist sound interesting enough.

Any other thoughts?

i have yet to see a run of demenologist...
so my vote goes to demonologist.
does anyone knows of ANY demonologist run on YT? Even German one would work just for an arguments sake.

otherwise, i think brawler is a fine class.

I guess that's a pretty good argument for a Demonologist run then. I don't see any runs either myself.

Hey all. I figure It is time to get back to this thread and notify you all that I will soon by releasing videos for a Doomelf Demonolgist Nightmare Adventurer run on YouTube. I've yet to complete the run - but I've completed all the zones excluding High Peak, Slime Tunnels, and Pikataclysm; and Atamathon (may attempt to kill him after).

Or at least, mostly completed all the zone. I think I missed a Wyrm in The Room of Death, despite getting all the loot. I also sort of skipped out on a Farportal run too after killing the Unique.

Videos are going to air every Friday and Saturday at 11am AST, starting on May 5th. Likely recordings for my run will exceed about 30 hours; though a lot of this is due to me reading all the Lore I come across.

Oh cool, how about a Reaver LP next? I was looking for one the other day, but the only one I found from a recent version wasn't in English.

Not sure I'll ever aim to do a Reaver run. While generally I'm all up for melee classes, I've never really found Reavers fun to play.
