Velessra the luminous horror. With 100% light and fire resist (and pretty high resist all), it is the bane of Sun Paladins everywhere. The list of talents below should illuminate why it was too much to handle for my level 30 Sun Paladin:
A character of a different class probably could have beaten it, but it would still have been a difficult battle. This was a cool ending for my character, though
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

[tome] phantomfrettchen: your ability not to tease anyone is simply stunning
Ghoul kings, one look at them makes the toughest of my characters cry. seems every hit gets me with a minimum of three diseases that do between 5 and 24 damage per turn for 24 turns.
i die inside when i am surrounded by corpses, my wild infusion still has a cooldown of seven, i have seventeen turns diseased left, and forty health.
the next logs look something like this
Ghoul king does 15 damage
Ghoul king does 20 damage
Ghoul king does 13 damage
you fall to the ground because of your gross diseased body.
ghoul king mocks you from hell
your corrupted cormac weeps at his pathetic death
now realize you sunk about six hours into watching *that* happen
Probably skeleton master archers for me, solely due to their &%#!ing pinning attack. Weirdling Beast comes close due to its propensity for healing itself at inopportune times. For low-level dwarves in recent betas though, brecklorns. Stupid little "run away while sniping with Spit Blight" buggers... grrrr.
Having satelliteinternet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?
Dervis wrote:The new revamped horrors can join the list too. Temporal dredges, temporal stalkers and void horrors are also quite annoying nowadays.
Annoying as in challenging and requiring different tactics or just annoying annoying? (And I take it this is on insane right? *doesn't think Dervis plays anything else*)
Dervis, you realize you just jinxed yourself to have a room full of radiant horrors guarded by luminous horrors and void horrors, right?
*hides*

Ghouls (of any kind) are difficult to fight well as a summoner, their leap gets them across the battle lines, letting them bypass your defences. Snow giant boulder throwers are also up there, it's difficult to get near them with their huge knockback and its AoE.
EDIT: also, groups of ghouls all using Retch are very hard to kill, with both the AoE damage, and healing.

What XP lvl was she?
I just encountered a unique luminous horror in Dreadfall and remembering this post I decided that it was time to call quits.
Epoch for Time Warden. All the rest of Uniques are random, but Epoch is always present after PM unlock. The biggest problem is that playing field is very small, and with some obstacle configurations there is no place for cooldown/heal. For now it's just pure luck for me - with fortunate field it's possible to win, with unfortunate - not.
