Disengage can penetrate walls

I can use Disengage to teleport through walls. It doesn't work in every situation but it seems pretty common. It seems to help for the wall to be far from the character using Disengage. I am playing 1.6.7 without mods. My rogue can easily and repeatedly disengage across those undiggable walls in the Maze right now. It's even possible to jump INTO the walls (and subsequently either step out or suffocate to death).
