[1.6.6] The Day It Came is stuck

When the character reads The Day It Came, the character gets entropic backlash on the first heal and then never gets it again, meaning the book can never be finished. Tried: 50+ heals; waiting for several hundred turns; starting ASAP; starting after other students completed their attempts; healing while healthy; healing while entropically damaged; and alternate methods of triggering the heal (pointer, shortcut, magic menu).

Two previous characters did finish the tome, and I remember the mini quests seemed slightly bugged, but now it is impossible. They would have been early version 1.6. The only add-on I added since then is bazaar.

You only get backlash from healing while in combat iirc.
Try punching a dummy and then healing again.
