Failure to load game or start new one.

I saved my game and exited, and now when I try to load a game, or even start a new one, I get this error:

I don't have any addons enabled except for the items vault. This only started after closing the game and opening it again. I start the game using a Steam shortcut, since I have the version of the game from the website.

You can try to reinstall the game and see if that helps. Just an idea.
