Hi,
if you freeze someone with biting gale after they put a damaging effect (a.e. poison, burn, etc.) on you, the iceblock they are encased in blocks the damage that's supposed to hurt you.
If they die before the iceblock breaks, their damaging effect will only damage their iceblock indefinitely and never the player.
following effects are always affected by this: poison (tested on giant venus flytrap), burn (tested on red crystal), deadly poison (tested on rogue)
following effects are never affected: acid splash (tested on enemies with acidic ego weapons)

similarly, I have noticed that malestrom will only hurt my iceblock(not me) while I'm frozen, and that nothing else is affected by malestrom until I stop being frozen
i'm not sure if its a bug

hi zeyphor,
did you proc maelstrom on an enemy before you were frozen? if so, then it's definitely exactly the same thing so thanks for mentioning it!
edit: hi again, sadly maelstrom is an effect that's put on the user when the talent is activated so i think this i just how iceblocks work. but it's weird with poisons and burns because they are supposed to affect the target and not the user. like if they were shooting poison every turn, i'd understand why those hurt the iceblock but the target is supposed to be poisoned/burning so i feel like the user being encased in ice should not at all affect that!

this even seems to work on ice shards, if the target cast them before they were frozen and the ice shards reach their destination before the ice block breaks. the ice shards will then hit the ice block instead (even if they literally hit something else on the way or upon reaching their target).
also all of the things mentioned above are not limited to biting gale's freeze but happen on any kind of the "frozen" effect.
