Saving game continously, rendering unplayable

#1 Post by Wborgah »

I tried versions 1.4.8 and 1.4.6 with and without downloaded Ashes of Urokh which I had bought couple of years ago.

Problem is uinfinite save loop from getgo with new computer. Cannot quit either (it freezes).

Also edited [ \engine\SaveFilePipe.lua and find the line that starts "local okmain =" and just remove the function call and make it "local okmain = true"] as suggested in 2013 post in forums. It stopped the save loop but then it didn't save at all.

IRC had this to say

Would it be wise to ask if he tried to import an old save set from the old computer? Also, if you can from win10 try running it from a command prompt and see if there are any errors listed in the commmand prompt box (unless win10 makes an error log).

It might also be a permissions issue if it can't write the save file.

Eventually running with admin priviledges helped and saving worked. Thank you for your participation.

It's a Great Game!
