Ok, so many of you know, I am an avid player of this game and contributed lots.
Yesterday, I bit the bullet and purchased Embers of Rage.
And having run around with a few insane roguelike sawbutchers, I thought I'd learn more about the game, especially about tinkers, salves, steam, etc. But also about the overall purpose of the extension, and how it relates (if it does at all?) to the main game.
But I can't find this info clearly explained anywhere. It might well be that I simply overlooked it somewhere, so perhaps this needs to be in Dumb Questions instead??? lol
But if it is not written down somewhere, I really think it needs to be.
Where is Embers game explained in full???

After 3 completions of the Interment quest, you will unlock all applicable classes (no stone wardens) for Embers and the Tinkerer classes for the main campaign. Tinkerer escorts will also be available in the main campaign.jenx wrote: how it relates (if it does at all?) to the main game.

Salves work like this:
You might have one or two medical injectors implanted, taking up the same "slots" as inscriptions. (As a tinker class, you start with two.) Having a medical injector that isn't on cooldown allows you to use a salve from your inventory, putting the injector on cooldown. You don't need to "equip" salves, you can keep as many in your inventory as you want. The effects are further changed by the stats on the injector, if you're using an injector other than the basic ones you start with - a higher efficiency rating will make it more powerful (heals for more, etc), and a lower cooldown rating will make it so that injector goes on a lower cooldown when you use a salve. Its effects are also increased by the tier of the salve - salves can crafted at anywhere from tier 1 to tier 5, depending on what ingredients you used to make it.
Using the injector talent directly doesn't do a whole lot - it just prioritizes that injector to be used up first when you're using salves.

... does it mean you can have 5 invectors, and just span the same healing salve? or is there no instant heal salve, only regen?
Re: Where is Embers game explained in full???
If I remember correctly you can only have up to 2 injectors. But yes, with two injectors you can use the same healing salve for two consecutive turns.Radon26 wrote:... does it mean you can have 5 invectors, and just span the same healing salve? or is there no instant heal salve, only regen?
Re: Where is Embers game explained in full???
right... i forgot you can only have 2 of the same type of inscription... and injectors take the same slot.

You can also have 2 steam generators going simultaneously. +40 steam per turn is pretty awesome. And it has to be, to justify taking up another inscription slot that could go to a rune or infusion
