Doombringer pure fire

i use a fire gem enchanted low tier maul (it turns tier 5 after you enchant it) to make the damage type fire.
i get the fire damage up with gear. (+86% now, but it can get much higher)
my crit chance is also 97%. multiplier 183%

the thing is. to my amusement, that in the training facility, i found that the damage with this low base power weapon i far better than any other weapon tested when it comes
to pure damage output. damage/turns => 1900 with basic attacks only.

I got this weapon early on in the playtrough, and every tier 5 weapon iv'e found doesnt match it.

this is especially paired good on bosses with the fiery torment talent the doombringer has. and the other fire based procs for the class also benefits greatly from +%fire dam.

just have not seen this kind of "build" in the character vault. wanted to give you the heads up.

(the tier 5 fire opal is the gem i use. earlier i used the lower tier gems. (if you change the gem in the weapon, you keep the old one) i also tried the golems eye but the fie opal was better.
want to use the golems eye in a ring or amulet eventually. (multiple if its possible through the item vault) :)

I could be wrong, but I feel this build would benefit greatly from staff combat. The extra dam boost from the staff, combined with the staff's accuracy bonus would (hopefully) greatly increase your fire damage.

Just finished the main game now :) Yes, i read that people are mentioning staffs with doombringer. it could work, have to look in to that. my two-hander is +%dam/acc.
I found some new really powerful two handers and nothing can compare in the damage output department. damage/turns => 1900 now. the closest is 1500 with another semi-firebased weapon.
I know this is not really important but it's fun to see how much you can crank up the pain.

I found the ancient tome now in the final area (of all the places). Now i need som high tier amulets/rings so i can try if it's possible to dual enchant them with 2 golem's eyes. or something...
