Cloaks and the undead

#1 Post by RaustBD »

So I'm curious about the cloak of deception that comes with the undead races (I'm assuming ghouls have the cloak of deception too, not just skeletons, but I've never gotten a ghoul so I'm just assuming), specifically what it means for cloak use. It keeps all humans from seeing you as an enemy, so it has to be worn on the world map and in towns, but where else? Are there any places where it's completely safe to wear the better cloaks you get later on? I'm assuming that if you get an escort quest and you're not wearing the cloak the escort just runs away in fear or just never shows up, or even attacks you, but I haven't tested.

the cloak always drops from the necromancer, and necromancer always spawns there.

so that applies to ANY race that starts there. in vanilla, its just ghoul and skeleton, but there are also addons.

i cannot answer the escort question, but there is a point in game (not part of the main plot line, but not that difficult to find.) where you can just toss the cloak aside. but don't sell it, just in case.

Pretty sure escorts have their faction set to whatever you are at the moment, so they are Undead faction if you have your cloak off when you meet them (and may even turn hostile if you put it back on later - I know Pumpkin did!)
