First Things First: This is an idea I would like to see as an add-on but I can't program so If anyone that can likes my idea contact me or feel free to create that class yourself. My name here is the same as in te4.com
As a scholar of the eidolon the Astrologist spent his time studying the might of the stars and using them to keep evil in the universe at bay, but disturbance occurred in Maj'Eyal. Now it is time to for the scholars of eidolon to descent to Eyal to restore order and keep peace.
The Astrologist buffs himself with star formations and uses the stars and their cosmic energies for offensive purposes. Although normally peaceful, his magic gets aggressive when the universe is in danger. His weapon of choice is a crystal ball through which he can watch the stars and channel their energy into it. His resource is Balance. It should be kept at zero, but gets disturbed when using his magic. He can only get out of balance so much and after that he needs time to recover his balance. Of course he can disturb his balance more the more experienced he is.
I got inspired by a Boss in a starting dungeon of the mardrop add-on.

Re: New Class: Astrologist
Balance sounds fairly similar to Paradox. Maybe have him run on paradox and negative energy?
Re: New Class: Astrologist
Balance is pretty much equal to old paradox. May I suggest a duality class? Anothoril is kind of a duality class, but... Whatever. Balance starts at 50.
"Star" themed spells increase your balance. As your balance increases, your spell cast speed, physical damage, fire damage and light damage increases. In addition to that, you can cast certain, more powerful star spells. Unfortunately, as a result of your balance going up, you have less dark, cold and temporal damage.
Casting "Space" themed spells decreases your balance, which in turn increases your spell speed, dark damage, cold damage and temporal damage and in return decrease fire, physical and light damage. And then yeah, you can cast more powerful space spells.
Now, you may be thinking, "what's stopping me from only using one kind of spell? Why even invest in the other side?" And that's where this mechanic I just thought of comes in. Once your balance reaches 20 or 80 it will slowly decay or increase until it reaches 0 or 100. If it reaches zero your character is silenced and immobilized because he gazed into the abyss (space) too long and thus, it has gazed back. If it reaches 100, your character is stunned and immobilized. In addition to one of those effects, all sustains that were active become disabled.
Also, if this class has sustains I would suggest either the sustains increase the cost of star or space spells, depending on the sustain or the sustains have a positive side and a negative side.

A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.

That idea sounds like a pretty good idea! Also I would say that the amount of balance you can get out of increases by your Willpower and the power of your spells by magic of course or maybe he could be purely Willpower focused
The character could be one that you have to control but can be powerfull
The star category of his spells could be mainly focused on star sign sustains and passives that compliment that and his space category could be offensive
How about the sustains have no activation cost but bring him out of balance(+) by a bit every turn and his space side sets him to-
Of course the spells have cool downs so you don't just activate sustains and hammer away space spells to stay on balance super easy
