Dream achievement glitch?

I was playing on normal mode, caldera spawned and I did both the dreams. I died a couple times before completing the mouse one in dream and ended up killing the mindworm before doing so but I used the pedestal and finished both dreams however it didn't unlock the achievement or the solipsist class, I checked the achievement itself and it says 0/2 dreams completed even though I did both. Did I do something wrong? Do you have to do both dreams without dying in them? I really want this class I hear it's the easiest to win the game with and I'm not doing so hot with any other class... The beginner guides are to basic and the other guides I see seem to be too advanced. There's no simple TL:DR build you guy this way guide anywhere. I really want to do better at the game and getting frustrated at my lack of skill.

On easy mode the furthest I've made it is the final area and on normal the furthest is up to dredfell/spell blaze, i can't really remember.

I had the same problem, found out there is currently a bug where the dreams MUST be completed via time sand thingy and not the pedestal. I too lost out on the character unlock but next time you get into the volcano with a new character just go to the last zone and spam back and forth to get sent into the dreams and complete both of them and it should unlock.

A yeek character will always encounter the Caldera, if I remember right. Caveat: you have to survive as a yeek.

Also note that you have to breath in order to trigger the dreams. Useful if you want to avoid them, annoying if you want to get the unlock. (and, in retrospect, I feel like an idiot for never trying to get a belt of undeath for the Caldera)
