Was running Temporal Warden for the second time, really enjoying the ability to scout and test battles with Precognition without any threat to myself, and had just finished clearing Daikara before I decided to save/close the game, as it seemed to have built up some memory leaks (reaching 1.4 GBs of memory usage).
When I tried to load the character again, however, the save file was gone. After all those Precognition deaths, the game seems to think I died for real, even though my online character sheet lists my total life/deaths as 0 and the most recent message log shows me leaving Daikara successfully.

This seems to be a semi-known issue already, but I'm really annoyed at having already lost two characters (one was very promising) to game breaking bugs, with one involving another Precog-perma death and the other having the world map glitch and banish him. I'd just like to know if there's a way to reverse this issue. I mean, browsing the character profiles my guy still seems alive, listed as white instead of red, as well as having 0 total deaths; but he's still set as "loadable = false" in the files and it doesn't allow me to change those.
It's getting really frustrating trying to continue with the threat of the game just outright deleting my save files...

Re: Precognition death caused perma-death
This really doesn't seem like a chronobug.
Re: Precognition death caused perma-death
Details on your system and game version would be useful.
I know Precognition can cause map bugs, but I've never heard of save breaking ones.

Details on my system? Like, er, I'm using Windows 7?HousePet wrote:Details on your system and game version would be useful.

And sorry, probably should've mentioned I was using the Steam version.
Have a feeling the save issues were part of being logged in online; nearly every time a Precognition died, the game would save and display the post-death menu before re-loading the last timeline. It looked like whatever syncs the saves/stats online got stuck into thinking I really died, so anytime I try to log on and use this character it resets it as unloadable.
Re: Precognition death caused perma-death
In which case, I recommend disabling steam cloud syncing. It has been causing save issues.

Re: Precognition death caused perma-death
I actually disabled it awhile ago because of issues, it wasn't on at all during this run.

Bugger. Maybe its an autosaving glitch then.
