[1.1.3] Golem takes all the gems of a kind

#1 Post by Robsoie »

As an alchemist character i was trying to give my golem 2 opal gems but i noticed that it does not give me that possibility anymore because for some reason the golem now takes -all- the opal gem from my stock, not just 1 making it impossible then to give 1 by slot

screenshot example :

here it took my 7 opal gems and my 8 amethyst ones.

I wouldn't complain if the gem effect was multiplied by the amount of the stack the golem is taking :D , but it's not, and while it's not much of a problem early game, when you'll have tier 5 gem and the ability to do more slots, that's going to be really bad.

I found the solution (in term of gameplay, not code) to that bug and it leadw into another problem.

The solution is to press I (inventory) , go into the gems tab , select the type of gem you want to give to your golem , select "Drop" and type 1 for the number to drop.

Then control the golem, take the gem, and equip it.

This way you can control yourself again and drop another 1 gem of the type you want the golem to equip.

Now for the other problem, to directly drop without having to press I, select the item and select "Drop", you would just press D and select the item.

But doing it this way do -not- allow you to drop only a specific amount of that item type, you simply drop the whole stack of gem.

There is a similar problem if you want to transmogrify a part of a stack of items. For regular items, you can drop some of them (by selecting drop in the inventory screen, not with drop command as noticed Robsoie), and then transmogrify the items on the ground.

But for gems, it is more difficult. You must do that immediately as stepping on them is an autopick. And partial transmog would be very useful if you need some cash, but want to keep a couple of gems for a later imbuing.
