(Edit: Forget the poll. If you want to code a module for this, you can; I can't program worth a dead yeek. Again, ignore the poll, and please don't vote on it.)
Such as:
Lightning should do resistable damage, but immunity without some sort of magical screening should be impossible. (Exceptions are such things as wraiths, which are immaterial, and therefore incapable of conducting electricity.)
Acid should be turned into "corrosion" or suchlike. (Not used in "Foo breathes corrosion", but in "You take x damage from corrosion", etc.) Whether the corrosive compound in question is acid or alkali will not be considered; objects and creatures will just have a degree of corrosion resistance. Corrosive materials may do damage over time to you and your items.
And some less-basic-attack makeovers:
Poison, if it is not swallowed, should not be curable via a potion of salt water. Once it's gotten into your bloodstream, losing your lunch will only make things worse.
Nether should do partial damage to vampires, since they rely on the life force of living beings, rather than nether forces, to sustain them. (I've said this before.)
Mana should damage walls, though not it the same way as disintegration. For each square on the first layer of wall that it hits, it should have a chance of working like a Dig spell.

Whew, I'm sorry if I killed your interest in discussing the ideas.
I just wanted to make clear two things:
1. Nothing's stopping anyone from putting ideas into practice now.
2. I'm as interested as ever in encouraging a ToME policy of trying things in third-party modules before merging them into the ToME module.
