Simple enough. Theres all kinds of new traits / stats on weapons in 1.0.5 and I have no clue, nor explanation, on what any of it means. Theres something about "proc" and also like "0.5 crit" or something else.
The hell is all this black magic on my swords?!
WHAT does "4% proc dam/acc" mean?

Re: WHAT does "4% proc dam/acc" mean?
105 introduced new effects for accuracy. Each weapon type gains a bonus for one point of accuracy, for example that 0.5 critical (assuming power, not chance) with 40 accuracy gives 20 crit power.
The staff one that has proc rate means each point of accuracy will increase your on-hit (ie. proc) damage by 4%. This includes effects like Reaver reaving combat and the damage enhance on Temporal Warden.
It does not affect spells.

In that same vein, by on-hit, we're including the unarmed on-hit procs from gloves, like brawlers and Flexible combat grants?
Also, does it affect the damage of spells that proc? Like the Black Robe and such?

I know from a character report where someone was like, "so that's why I was doing 4x my rated damage," that it works on spells which proc from on-hit (or crit, for that matter) in melee. However, as casting a spell does not involve a weapon accuracy comparison, "on-hit(spell)" does not trigger the proc bonus on the staff, as was explained in the thread I made in this forum.Elroniel wrote:In that same vein, by on-hit, we're including the unarmed on-hit procs from gloves, like brawlers and Flexible combat grants?

Does this, combined with short staves, make melee weapons a trap option for arcane blades?

Not sure on what's meant with "trap option" but it does make AB really insane, so I'd say yes.comrade raoul wrote:Does this, combined with short staves, make melee weapons a trap option for arcane blades?

I read it backwards the first time I saw his question, but I think what he's asking is essentially, "Would I be crazy to use any melee weapon that's not a staff, especially a short staff, in the latest build?" (sort of like how, before the arcane combat nerf that made the expected number of spell procs per attack the same for one weapon or two, you'd be crazy not to use dual weapons) Considering staff training is an extra that costs money in Angolwen and it is not at all evident that this might be a good option from the name or starting equipment, this is more than a little devious.Mayfair wrote:Not sure on what's meant with "trap option" but it does make AB really insane, so I'd say yes.comrade raoul wrote:Does this, combined with short staves, make melee weapons a trap option for arcane blades?
Personally, I'd say, given how heavily most winning Arcane Blade builds lean on the (unlockable) Stone school, I'd say that the entire class is one giant newbie trap, but that's neither here nor there, given how elusive Hakor-Zun seems to be sometimes.

Right. That's what I was asking! Sorry for the unclarity!

Just tested 2 clones of the temporal warden damage enhance and accuracy had 0 effect on them no matter how much I gained.Mayfair wrote:105 introduced new effects for accuracy.
