[1.0.4] Doomed Shade Not Spawning

This is actually the second character this has happened to (the first being a dwarf Cursed, Ego being a yeek Solipsist), but I didn't think to document it the first time because I was unclear on when the doomed shade of me should spawn. I want to unlock Doomed very badly. Am I doing something wrong?

Yet another one. There's a bug with the doomed shade this version. It's supposed to spawn when the cultist loses bone shield. Since bone shield was very recently changed, it doesn't turn 'off' anymore, just recharges from nothing, without turning off. Because of this, it prevents the shade from being summoned. You can either wait until the next version, or you can do it this version by manually dispelling the Cultist's bone shield. To do this, you need disperse magic (from the meta tree on archmages, and a few other classes), Gloves of Dispersal (they're arcane, antimagic characters can't use them), Spellhunt Remnants (at tier 5. They're antimagic, but anyone can use them for the few turns it takes to strip bone shield), Corrupted Negation (Corruptor), or any antimagic character with spell feedback (a prodigy). The last is especially tricky, since you would have to be hit with a spell, and hope that during the feedback debuff on the enemy, it just 'happens' to target the bone shield sustain to disable it. Could take hundreds of turns trying to do it that way, you're much better off with one of the other methods.

It helps a lot! I looked over two pages of the Bugs forum, and I didn't see anything on this, so I didn't realize it was a known error. I really appreciate the explanation, and the shockingly thorough breakdown of how to work around it.
