Minor interface suggestions

#1 Post by Zonk »

The interface has been getting nicer, but more can still be done!

1: Let us disable sustains by clicking on their graphical icon in the effect bar

2: Passives with cooldown(Draconic Body for example) could be made to go into the hotkey bar by default.

Seeing as how many hot-bars get filled by late game, what about just another row, next to positive/negative effects, showing the cooldowns on passives?
<mex> have you heard the good word about archmage?
<mex> I'm here to tell you about your lord and savior shalore archmage
<mex> have you repented your bulwark sins yet?
<mex> cornac shall inherit the Eyal

Actually, one thing I once considered is: being able to sort hotkeys by talent type.
Both by resource and activation type(active sustained passive).
Or multiple rows, one for each type. However I can see that would be lots of work...still it would look very nice, especially if playing something with talents using multiple resources.

Let me dedicate a skill bar slot to the charm slot. Current implementation doesn't make it very clear if an item is currently available (there is an outline, but it doesn't stand out very much). It allows switching between charms quickly (pickaxe and psychoportation in a certain vault), but keeps polluting the skillbar.

This is a very good point, yes...easy to lose track of items, and they are VERY important.

And the deaths caused by hitting your OLD psychoport button on bar, equipping it, instead of USING your new much better randart psychoport, causeing you to take a crapton of blows from spells cast by enemies that trap just summoned...

...Yes, still better over that death.

A single button that uses whatever is currently equipped in the charm slot would be IMMENSELY helpful...

You would still die from not realising that you had something else equipped in the tool slot.
I find the yellow edge works fine.

Unless the "tool slot" icon changes appearance based on currently equipped item. I thought this was obvious.
