Having a non standard movement rate makes it impossible to avoid all the Wake damage by moving every turn.
The description is also slightly misleading as it suggests that the potential damage done after the shield ends is the same as the damage prevented. However, it is capable of doing three times this amount.
I suggest dividing the damage done by the Wakes by 3. So that the maximum damage possible is the same as the damage prevented.
