Finally got that first win!!!

Went big on the fire this run, and I've had more success with that than the other elemental choices. Of course I also fatally blasted myself with a fireball on two different occasions. This humorously granted me an achievement "fool of a took" achievement for murdering my halfling self. Other than that I had one death from a non-challenging battle (complete carelessness), and one clearing out the vault in the Vor Amory.
Despite the deaths it was a great run for me! I went high on survivability starting towards the mid and late game. I chose a lot of hp-boosting equipment, and had two shield infusions. My stun/blind resists were almost non-existent for the entirety of this run, but with a wild infusion, the Halfling indomitable ability and the celestial/light skill tree from escort missions, I never was without an option for removing negative effects.
The Halfling ability to boost crit chance was also fun to play with on the Archmage. I stacked a bit of critical improving gear on this run. At the end of the game I could activate that ability for 100% spell crit. Fun stuff.
Finally, I have to say that I absolutely love the meteoric crash prodigy. I will never play another Archmage without it.

Re: [1.0.0] First victory - Halfling Jawa Archmage
Congrats on the win ^^
Im playing a very similar archmage atm cause all those firemage artifacts were too tempting.
I will probaby get the meta category too but im unsure if burning wake will remove effects from you if you have maxed spellcraft (which i would get anyway just for the spellshocking). Since i havent found an Anorithil escort yet that would free up my 2 wild infusions and with the new wildfire i could ignore the fire aoe spells anyway. Then i could take something else than the wordly knowledge prodigy and then try out aether permeation etc etc. ^^
Also im a bit surprised you didnt level flameshock and illuminate but instead got freeze which depends on high damage to produce a strong iceblock (at least i think it does) while you were raising your fire damage.

Re: [1.0.0] First victory - Halfling Jawa Archmage
I'm not sure about the strength of the iceblock. It never seemed to be an issue. I also didn't really rely on it too heavily. I occasionally pulled one out just to freeze an archer or mage separated from any large groups. If I found that it would work on elites/bosses I would use it then as well.
Also, I'm not too huge on flamestrike for whatever reason. If I had a large group close to me, I tended to pop my blastwave for the knockback. My armor on this run gave me the option of a second blastwave as well. I don't usually go for the blind, as I tend to be more interested in dealing out damage as heavily & quickly as possible. Fireball/Inferno/Beams. Maybe I'll try out illuminate next time?!? Probably going to roll some different classes for a while.
