Stuck on "Generating Level" forever

Hi,

I'd been playing all day. My archer discovered a Strange Patch of Jungle, so I decided to have her investigate. When I saw the level of critters in there, I went to leave immediately...but it just spun on Generating Level. I could end the process, of course (Windows), but then when I reloaded to try again, I got the same thing every time.

I tried re-saving to overwrite the existing one, as well as performing some actions first and then leaving, but nothing worked.

I finally used the Rod of Recall to be able to exit successfully. (I didn't feel too sure about my ability to survive for 40 turns, but it turns out I did better than I thought I would.)

Anyway, I just thought I'd report it in case there's something in here that can be investigated. Thanks!

EDIT: One more thing. Now when I try to return to the Strange Patch of Jungle from the world map, it says "the portal seems to be inactive now." This is b42.

That would be the Fylish Island. It's a little buggy, but it was only a temporary thing.
