[b38] Ranger class tames dragon!

I'm playing the ranger add-on and finally managed to tame a dragon! Yeah! It's a cold drake, doing huge damage to everyone. I want an elite multihued wyrm next!

But the problem is that it breathes on me as well, making life somewhat dangerous.

I've posted this problem in the add-on group, but wanted to ask more generally, so perhaps I could try tweaking it myself, where in the code is pet behaviour managed, so that summoned creatures for instance don't fire on their summoner? Is it animal specific, i.e., built into the code of cold drakes (or in this case, not, and would need to be added in)? Or somewhere else?
