I've just won with the Cursed class, but I still don't understand all the class mechanics. My main question is about Cleave, which I didn't use at all, but wish to experiment with:
If I have two weapons, and use Frenzy, for 4 hits, that's 8 hits altogether, and Cleave is activated, does it check cleave 8 times, once for each, or once only, or 4 times?
Are cleave hits regular hits, so that they too can be critical hits?
It seems that Cleave only works if there is two or more adjacent enemies? Is that right? Would'nt it be better to be a second hit, on adjacent, or if no adjacent, on the same target?
Thanks!

Re: [b38] Questions about Cursed class
Cleave triggers at the end of a regular attack (as opposed to a single weapon attack). Most attacks, including talent-based attacks, are regular attacks. I think there may be a few talents that specifically say they attack with the main weapon or the secondary weapon which wouldn't give a cleave. At the end of the regular attack, Cleave gives a chance to trigger a second regular attack. This doesn't exactly make sense when it comes to dual-wielding as the idea is the weapon cleaves through the target. It would make more sense to have cleave trigger off of the main hand attacks only.
Frenzy gives 4 regular attacks (at reduced damage) so cleave can give up to 4 extra regular attacks for a total of 8 main weapon and 8 secondary weapon hits when dual-wielding. The damage multiplier of the Cleave attack ignores the original attack's multiplier, so a Frenzy-based Cleave hase the same damage as a normal Cleave.
Cleave doesn't hit the same target for two reasons: 1) because it doesn't make sense to "cleave" through something back into that something. 2) because that would make Cleave incredibly powerful. Still, I think Cleave is weak compared to Repel and Surge. It could use a boost to get people to use it. Critical chance and Critical multipliers would be good. Two handers could get the cleave-through attack.

Thanks, that is very helpful. I didn't know that dual wielded attacks were one regular attack. For on hit mechanics they are obviously two, which the output shows, so I thought there were 8 attacks.
I pumped up cleave and started to see 3-4 cleaves with frenzy, which is cool.
