Craziness after leaving Dreadfell

So I clean out Dreadfell and exit the stairs on the bottom floor that lead to the surface, get there and the orc horde demands the staff, AOE battle ensues.. I lightning beam a row of 3 enemies and a lua error pops up, so I explain what just happened and send in the error report but afterward I can still walk, and the orc party plus loot is gone and I'm left with 2 hp and a shield to die for (or to never die with..)

1,458,751 points of shielding :P

This is a known bug in b36. It has been fixed in b37. The only way to continue playing with that character is described there :

Just wanted to say I just hit the same spot in Ambush on a new guy today, in b37 this time, and the problem is still there :O this time it was 1hp and an even one million points worth of shielding.. Also didn't offer to let me send a bug report this time too..

I already restarted tome so it wouldnt save me after the bug and messed up the error log though :(

Hello.
That's a spoiler-heavy post, so please skip if you don't want to know the future.
There was a problem and I'm really confused now. I defeated the Master, took his staff and left Dreadfell. I was ambushed by the orcs. I fought back (not very successfully) and at one moment I used a Teleport rune.

Suddenly, all the orcs disappeared! The small map was empty. I was saved, but also without loot. I could only leave it.

The problem is, the Staff of Absorption disappeared too. The next thing I did was to visit the Sher'tul fortress, activate it and get the transmogrification chest.

But what next? There doesn't seem to be anything to do. Maybe I was supposed to transmogrify the staff in the chest, for the fortress to have enough energy. Don't know, really.

The Ambush map is too small to teleport on, so it just wastes a turn. What happened is that the orcs knocked you out (i.e. would have killed you if it weren't for the scripted event), took the staff, and left you unconscious. When you woke up there should have been a dialog explaining that you ought to report this to the leader of Last Hope; I think it would be a good idea to mention that in a quest description.
