[b35] trying to hit invisible/stealthed enemies

#1 Post by tiger_eye »

if you try to attack an enemy that you can't see, then your accuracy is reduced to a third. To be more specific, the rescaled accuracy (displayed in the left panel) is reduced to a third. It would be more reasonable (and consistent, I suppose) if the base accuracy before rescaled to teirs was reduced to a third.

As a melee character that has made it to level 50 (a ghoul brawler), throughout the game I hit basically every foe I can see 100% of the time, but I have 0% chance to hit most enemies that I can't see.

Or instead of reducing accuracy it could reduce the hit chance.

So it could take accuracy and defense, compare them, and return X hit chance. Then it could reduce X to 1/3rd. This way if you have a chance to hit it to begin with you'll still have a chance to hit it even if it's stealthed. Albeit, that chance may end up very very small. This would also allow you to still get cross tier effects on creatures you can't see (assuming accuracy vs. defense can still trigger them, I think that may have been tweaked between the SVN addition of that stuff and the b35 release).
