[b33] Graphic effects sometimes disappear (unvisited/chants)

#1 Post by Gliktch »

Sometimes when I exit back to the worldmap, the locations that I haven't visited yet have lost their "ooh, shiny, haven't been there yet!" sparklyness, and entering/exiting a town doesn't bring it back (quitting and reloading does, though).

Also, I have a Chant of Fortitude from an early escort quest, and it's not usually shown - maybe it simply takes away the graphical effect (lights around me) after a certain period of time, I'm not saying it's *necessarily* a bad thing (maybe an always-on aura or effect shouldn't show all the time cause it could get annoying), but the fact that I normally only notice it when I level up (because then it deactivates and reactivates) means that if something happens to remove the chant (enemy talent or rune or activation, or my character's death) then I tend to not notice it's missing until I'm in the middle of another battle, which isn't a good time to waste a turn putting it back on.

The thing with the Chant happens every time I play; the thing with 'new place' glow disappearing *might* only be one of those things that happens after the game has been open a while, I'm not sure.

Just let me know if you need me to try and work out more information on how/when this happens

EDIT: IIRC, the chant animation also disappears quite suddenly when moving close to another monster, maybe only next to a special monster (I remember I saw it go away from Bill and later with the Skellie Mold unique).

I think it's an issue with the admissible number of particles displayed. The world map is a regular offender due to all of the shininess; classes that maintain a lot of auras will see this often, too.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
