By stacking 7 or 8 cursed items with the +0.003 to +0.006 Hate per turn, I was able to get passive Hate regen up to a certain point, however, I could not rest to recover Hate, and had to hold down "5" for a while instead.

A short-term workaround is to (in a safe spot, obviously) use whatever skill, rune or talent you have with the most other-resource usage (stam/mana/etc) or longest cooldown (one of the racial talents with 30-45 cd is ideal), then you can tap R a couple of times for that to fill back up..

Same tactic I use to re-energise my Spellblaze Echoes amulet (300/300 for a radius of wall-destroying sound blast) since it's my only digger :lol:

:idea: possible fix for this could be to offer a prompt upon resting if your hp and skills and other 'normal' resources are maxed, asking for a value of how many turns to rest for (0-999, with maybe a default value of 10 or whatever value you last entered).

Yeah, after posting, I discovered that Seethe does this very well, with its 400 turn cooldown in addition to giving it a head start.
