Display difference re: other side of a wall

Same saved game, two different computers. In one of them (work), I can see "through" the walls a little bit, and get information on part of the tiles on the other side. In the other (home), that information is not available to me.

Which one is correct? How do we fix the one that's wrong?

The second one is correct, and to fix it I need to rewrite smooth shadows :/
