So I am playing my first berserker and in the Old Halfling Ruins I encounter an Eternal Bone Giant. He uses re-animate all the time and I can't kill him. I once got him down to some 30 HP and he healed himself all the way up to ~600 again. I have no idea how to beat him: I even tried decking out with as much elemental damage as possible in the hope that might do the trick. He reassembled, and probably laughed at me with a rattling bone-dry voice
He only reassembles once (unless you die and resurrect yourself on adventure mode, in which case his resurrect gets reset). If you beat him once you should be able to again. The big problem of course if he's immune to physical damage, so you gotta use elemental weapons and the like to even scratch him. If I were you I'd probably just avoid him.
As an EBG he is going to have a minimal amount of 50% to resist all, and as they do have both a heal [the Re-Assemble talent] and the ability to Resurrect [once], they can prove to be very challenging, especially for a class that relies almost [if not entirely] on a single damage type. Unless you absolutely have to do so [and that is never the case], don't fight them if they are too though, as Grey said.
You should try to Stun him repeatedly, that will prevent his abilities from refreshing so fast. Also a Slimy weapon really helps against dragged out fights.
Thanks for the great advice! My character can run: she has before and will do so again...
Grey, are you sure he only reassembles once? He did so repeatedly in the same battle for me. Final Master seems to indicate that it is a renewable talent?
Dervis, I am often in prolonged engagements, so I will try your tip about slimy weapons. Being somewhat of a newb, though, I wonder how slime will tip the scales in my favour?
Eternal Bone Giants can cast their healing spell (reassemble) repeatedly, but can only resurrect once. Slimy weapons reduce global speed by 30% for 3 turns on hit.
