Hey ToMErs,
I've been a fan of ToME for some time and have been playing the last 3.x version pretty heavily for a while, and only got around to taking a look at ToME 4 recently.
I downloaded the OS X version, and the version included seems to be a graphical, tiled version of the game. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of graphics or tiles.
So... is it possible to get ToME 4 running on OS X in a text-only mode that I can run from a standard UNIX terminal, or is this a feature that's gone away? If it is possible to get it running without graphics, this would be very valuable to me, as I prefer to install the game on a server I control so that I can log in via SSH from whereever I happen to be to play.
I dearly hope that this option still exists, as without this feature the game is of little use to me, which would be somewhat sad as it is one I'd enjoyed.
I'm certainly not afraid to get my hands dirty at the command line getting this compiled right, if someone can give me some tips on how I'd go about it.
EDIT: I'm aware that I can select the 'ASCII' tile set in the 'Graphic Mode' menu item, but this bears no similarity to what I'm looking for: the game is still being run in a graphical window, and only some of the onscreen elements are replaced with ASCII characters. Most importantly, it is still not an actual UNIX terminal application that can be run in a standard terminal program over an SSH connection.
ASCII only mode, is it still there?

There is no way to run the game as terminal only, alas. I would encourage you to still give it a try though, as it's a good game regardless and worth the extra restrictions.
