Rogue issues in the far east, advice welcome

Have a level 33 rogue "Jimmy the Hand" in the far east, trying to kill the grand necromancer in the Rath'Kor (?) pride but he keeps teleporting away anytime I get close to him, even with stealth on. Unfortunately don't have the rush tree unlocked, and even when I controlled phase door near him he just teleports away immediately. Any suggestions?

Also, had a lot of trouble with my own shade, I've got 100+ defense and neither of us could hit each other. I even loaded up a heatbeam 400+ rune to try that, but he would regen faster than I could take him down. (Also the game crashed when I entered the shadow crypt, had to apply the quickfix found in this forum but now my game is unsynced with the server, any way to fix that?)

Wonderful game, btw, I've played most of the roguelikes and this one has some of the most innovative ideas I've seen, and just keeps getting better! Kudos.

Not much advice, no... you can come back to him later once you have something that can help you close the distance better (rush talent, boots of rushing, double control phase door runes) and once you can get up to him maybe try stunning him so he cannot teleport away?

Unfortunately any changes made to the game, even if they are bug fixes that are applied in the SVN, will unsync the game from the server until you revert those changes. If you really want the game to sync again then revert the change you made and it should work.

If you do the spiders quest, can't that webby wand thing stick people to the the ground? Haven't used it myself, but read about it on these forums.

Yes, the wand of Spyrdric Poison is badass, it's a poison + pin effect and might prove very useful for use against things that like to charge or disengage... Or when you want to keep a certain someone away from you.

Hmmm, but pin won't help against teleport.

Thanks all for the advice. Have tried Spydric, phase doors, and even set up a disengage that would land me right next to him, but he teleported away each time before I could hit him. Will wander around and see what else I can find...
