Little black dots in the Trollmire

They weren't there in the last version I downloaded, but now the new one has these little black dots all over, in addition to the trees, water, etc. They act like rocks - I can't get past them, and they sure clog up the screen. Are they supposed to be there?.

Does mousing over it show anything ?

Reloaded the game today (newest version) and they are gone. When I moused over them they identified as trees, but they had no tops, just little black dots like stumps.
