And make all lightning damage done to things in water while you're not in the water, also damage you.
Re: Stop burning when underwater (nt)
I thought about such things but then this would also render some things just unsuable, like pyromancers in the caverns of osse and such
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Re: Stop burning when underwater (nt)
The reason people gave in another game was that the fire is magical and thus works under water. Maybe torches could be extinguished and zapping a wand gives you a minor electric shock doing 1hp dmg?
Re: Stop burning when underwater (nt)
Meh. Steam can still do plenty of damage, and a pyromancer is a mage. To quote a really bad movie, "When was the last time you saw a river catch on fire?" Maybe pyromancer-generated Burning lasts half as long underwater?
Re: Stop burning when underwater (nt)
IMO a character like a pyromancer is intended to freakingly avoid a water filled place. Any great power brings along some downsides. Other magic classes would be forced to rely on other schools (avoiding fire and lightning) to get past dungeons like them (to be fair, just design things so that these places are optional, like the aforementioned caverns).darkgod wrote:I thought about such things but then this would also render some things just unsuable, like pyromancers in the caverns of osse and such
Don't fear the eyes of the Dark Lord / Morgoth I cry

Re: Stop burning when underwater (nt)
That would be pretty harsh on thos poor Pyromancers. That would mean they avoid everything wet (Caverns) because fire doesn't work there. In addition they have a hard time in anything thats HOT (MtDoom), because everythis is immune there...
Besides: Even without magic, there are a lot of fire that work perfectly underwater too... magnesium/thermite for instance.
