Assassins and Archery

Assassins and Archery
For something different I thought I'd try a stealthy assassin character. I have noticed that I am unable to put any skill points into Archery. Is this normal? Are assassins not supposed to have ranged abilities or something? What I find odd is that the skill in listed in white as if I should be able to put skill points into it.
Re: Assassins and Archery
Look at the help file for creating a character. It tells you what the modifiers are for each race and class.
Assassins get low level Boomerang-mastery. That is a sub-skill of Archery so you can see that, but not put points into it.
You can pick up Archery points from fumblefingers quests, but that will take a while depending on your luck with them. A better option would be to start with a wood elf, which has Archery from the start.

Thanks Yottle. I guess looking at the help file should have been my first port of call rather than simply posting here

I think I will try a Wood Elf assassin as I'm a fan of ranged attacks with a bow.An Assassin cannot learn the Archery skill, but it is shown in his skill screen because Boomerang-mastery is a sub-skill of it.
