Is there documentation anywhere on the different draconic types and what they do, or is it just a matter of reloading until I've seen them all?

Boiled down to basics, all types get a resist and a power bonus in their chosen element, and a 'breath' weapon (not ALWAYS a breath, but always some sort of offensive tool), and a (weak) armor bonus and damage retaliation on scales. Then they also have type-dependent bonuses on the second talent as well, but those are separate.

I swear I'll try and put a chart together or something, at some point.

Is there a list, at least? I'd love to know what my options are if I shoot for random on Enhanced with, say, a Necromancer (or whatever). I do like this on a conceptual level and am very much looking forward to updates.

Alright, here is a list of what each types rough abilities are. In addition to these, all draconians receive a scales talent providing some bonus armor, and damage retaliation. Furthermore, your 'draconic power' talent in your first racial, will gain new abilities for each additional racial you invest in. Further investment in those racials will improve these additional parts of the first talent.

Edit: Now lists which classes are capable of each type. Available means it can be chosen directly, randomed for means it is on the class, but at a low enough weight it can only show up on random. This information is current as of the CURRENT version (Draconians - Weight lifting, sunshine, and elements - Draconic-fork_5.teaa), where some talent weights have been juggled.
Keep in mind some of the weights are excessively off. (huge on one type, miniscule on others, so things that must be randomed for might not show up at all frequently.) I'm working on fixing this over the next few versions. If someone wants to make a prettier chart in some way, please do, to avoid the whole 'wall of text' thing I have going on. (though if so, make it easily accessible to everyone, ideally posted here in this topic, and be willing to update it when the addon changes. (especially in the coming 2-3 versions where weights are going to change.)

Updated.

Should be safe to update on any existing file, unless you are running a golden draconian. Those had a talent change, and might bug. Finish existing golden Draconians before updating. Also, see above post for up to date information on what the assorted types do, and what classes have access to each.

Changelist -

Code: Select all

Updates talent weights on numerous types. Things should be less extreme when randomed for now, but only partially. This is an ongoing update for the next few versions.
Fixed a bug with golden form messing up positive generation rates on classes with both positive and negative energy. They were fine before on sunpally, but can now be safely used on anorithil/adventurer with both positive and negative.
Fixed a bug with elementist class support from arcanum. They should now receive their proper form choices.
Added razor and steel to heavy, added temporal to a few things, added cold and lapis to necro, and a few other changes.
Forum post now has a list of draconian types, their effects, and what classes they are available to.

As always, report any bugs.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

(I always wanted to say that...)

Draconian has received an update. Not much of one, just adding support for the freshly updated monk class by Grayswandir. As always, bug reports are appreciated.

Code: Select all

Adds support for the Monk class (By Grayswandir). They receive Fire, Cold, Lightning, and Earth and multi-hued as direct choices, and have a chance at Silver, Steel, and Razor through random.
Front page post has been updated with an up to date type chart. Check there for any future changes.

New update, more significant!

A brand new very special Draconian type has been added. Every class may random for this new type, and it is directly selectable by adventurers and heroes.

The dark draconian has been slightly modified. Now, in addition to infravision, it also gains 'heightened senses' at the same rate, so if you invest in the heightened senses talent, it does not become worthless. It has also gained some small 'stealth power' increases, though this does no good if you are not/can not stealth. Finally, rogues may now be dark draconians.

New graphics were added for the zen draconian type, as were they for the Dracolich type, along with Wind and Temporal finally receiving proper graphics, instead of placeholders.

Enjoy, and may the luck be with you!

BunnyWyrms have Arrived!

Update this addon, and any character of draconian race that receives the bunnification event will experience a different sort of transformation into bunny sized dragons. (Or dragon-shaped bunnies.)

Step 1 - Make draconian.
Step 2 - Receive server push for bunnification.
Step 3 - SQUEEEE at how cute they are.
Step 4 - ???
Step 5 - Profit!

Unfortunately, previous versions of draconian will not experience this, and characters that already have the bunnification effect will also not benefit, the server push must come after updating. Update soon, that the bunnies may spread everywhere as Easter Approaches!

The new graphics were provided thanks to Waladil, and Edited for insertion by Rexorcorum. Many thanks to our bunny loving artists! Be sure to thank them for the adorable bunnywyrms!

That's adorable, though I now have a horrible urge to start quoting Monty Python.

Very VERY interested in this race.
But i think i am doing something wrong...
Is it supposed to have no custom sprites? My character looks like a Higher. Also all my draconian characters start in the higher starting zone...
Did i - up?
Also what is the process to get all those types listed?

Play awhile and your inner dragon will be awoken and your pathetic human life will inadvertently change :).

Yeah, your dragon powers are currently lying dormant. Beat your first zone-boss and it should drop an item that kicks up some... memories... when used.

In game, it'll list available types (I recommend setting the option under gameplay options to 'enhanced', it starts on standard) and choosing that way. As for a list of what types are available, check the first post of this section, as it lists each type, what classes have it, and a brief description of it's powers. It's accurate for 'enhanced', and mostly accurate for 'standard'. (A few types would have to be randomed for instead of chosen directly, is the only difference.)

Update: A Strong Wind Blows.

Wind Draconians have an altered breath weapon now. In addition to knockback, a proper damage modifier is now applied when enemies are successfully slammed into a wall, increasing damage. Additionally, while in ultimate form, your breath of wind instead becomes a massive down-draft from your wings, making it a radial effect centered on you. Range was nerfed to compensate for the increased damage, but may need further tweaking. Feedback will be appreciated.

Special thanks go to Nagyhal (among others) for helping me to get this fancy damage type up and running, and DoctorNull for some debugging help.
