TheRani wrote:I'd like it if Limmy could still make regular tier 4 & 5 rings ala Angolwen's jeweler, but can create moon amulets as the quest reward.
Which raises the obvious question:

Once you complete the quest, limmy will upgrade1 and only 1 item to Moon status, after that he reverts to standard rings... Would that fix the issue?

It'd fix it, but probably excessively. That'd be fine if the moon upgrade was something akin to crystal focus (i.e. set bonuses), but limmy's rings right now can be pretty random, especially for someone encountering them for the first time.

I did suggest that, though. Just have a limited number of attempts. Probably more like 3-4 than just one, but still limited. It's an annoying solution, because it'd drastically encourage save scumming to get the "right" ring.

In any case, current Limmir can still make regular rings as he pleases. Don't think anyone's suggesting he stops being able to do that.

Edge's suggestion seems like an elegant solution - makes amulets more useful, makes the reward less game-breaking. Currently the reward from Limmy is more guaranteed than the Crystal Focus, and several orders of magnitude more powerful. It makes sense for a quest reward to be *one* awesome item rather than two. There's certainly nothing else in the game at the moment which compares in any way to the power of this quest reward.

There's still other good rings in the game, so it's not like players will suffer severely without his rings. And the amulets would be very cool to have, and still be a big reward to get for the quest.

From what I've heard DarkGod now has this implemented in the SVN.
