Thanks, it was there, just not where it was looking for them. So got past that point, but got errors later on. I think I'll wait & see if the compiled b43 works on my system. Too little idea what I'm doing compiling it.

http://te4.org/wiki/howtocompile is more up to date than what you're following. Darkgod is using a newer version of SDL than most Linux distributions are shipping (and it's not backwards compatibile), so there are additional steps required.

Yeah, I had a look there & saw instructions for Debian, Gentoo & Ubuntu. Was not sure how much was the same for Fedora & what changes to compile the current SVN instead of b31/b33 like in the instructions.

I just updated the Debian instructions for beta 42. It's a bit messy with references to scattered forum posts. Sorry about that. It's not worth trying to write a single monolithic document for it until we're out of beta, because things change rapidly.
