There was an interesting post on Rogue Temple by Nathan Jerpe, creator of Legerdemain, famous as a roguelike with a very deep and detailed story. He sells a sort of collector's edition of the game, on a printed CD with a high quality hand-drawn map and an accompanying book with game hints and story details. He regularly attends gaming and comic conventions peddling these, and is now selling them online.
Whilst it's still too early to really consider doing something like this for ToME, it might be something to consider for the future. The ToME game on CD, with a map and a book with lore stuff and game info. I'm sure Nathan could give some guidance on how he went about this and what sort of costs are involved, etc.
