Unarmed Damage

#1 Post by viciouscat »

Hey all,
Playing a Rogue atm, and I've just been looking at Dirty Fighting.
So, the talent itself does 150-200% unarmed damage. However, I can't see the value of unarmed damage on my character sheet (or anywhere in the Wiki / Google).
It's also not on the Character Vault character sheets
I imagine there'll be a relationship with Physical Power, but as a Rogue I don't prioritize Strength. I'm wondering now if I should?
TIA

You can see the damage value on the character sheet by unequipping your weapon (just in case you don't know, that damage value is not actually the damage you'll do, it's a base value used in calculating actual damage. But either way, comparing it to the damage value reported with weapons should give you a decent idea of the relative difference).

It's affected by the gloves you wear - if you take that talent or enable "Always show glove combat properties" in game options, you can see which stats affect unarmed damage (from a quick glance, it's an equal split between DEX/CUN/STR for most gloves, along with the "Power" multiplier for the gloves in question).

With that said, I wouldn't worry too much about it - Dirty Fighting has some niche uses, but it's more of a utility talent. You aren't really using that for damage. (If you have some great gloves with an on-hit proc you could roll the dice, but just one hit probably isn't worth the trouble for a like 10% chance to apply a debuff). With that said, if you're a melee rogue, Flexible Combat is a really fun and powerful prodigy to take, and then unarmed combat matters a lot - although the main benefit is getting powerful proc hits from gloves, with debilitating effects like Cripple or Disarm. You can see the on-hit effects of the glove egos here: https://te4.org/wiki/Glove_Egos

STR on a Rogue will increase weapon damage done, but it's much less important than DEX/CUN so I wouldn't really put points there until you've maxed them out.
