Crashes at least once a day, even just quits even when not doing anything

Hi. I've recently revisited the game after a few years. Never had such an issue before. The game just quits and sometimes, even when I'm not doing anything i.e. reading an item's description. I've enabled save on entering each level but it's happening often enough to be frustrating to do it again.

Device/OS: Steam Deck (Played TOME on it roughly for 500hrs since 2024)

Things that I've tried: Switching between Proton versions, disabling shaders, verifying integrity of the files via Steam, uninstalling/re-installing.

I've run the game now with the --flush-stdout launch option now. The log file doesn't seem to have an error or stacktrace but attached a snippet of it just after my most recent crash. I can attach the full file if you need me to.

Reading through it, that's pretty much when it happened this time. I blinked away from a Worm That Walks and was contemplating my next move, then it crashed.

Hi Joeljpa,

When you experience a crash, what exactly happens? Does TOME just terminate with no message, do you get any type of error reported, does the whole system crash/hang or do you just get returned to the desktop?

Since the last entry in your log was online related, try disabling all online functionality and see if that helps (in game press Esc, then Game Options/Online/Disable Online Features) .
