Please - Technical Advice Appreciated

Hi

I purchased a steam copy (with mod pack) a few years ago.

My HDD recently crashed and I lost my save games. I have since reinstalled the game in Steam. The Steam client does not recognise my login, and only gives me an option to create a new account for the game. I also cannot re-create the account as my user name and email are already in use.

I am happy to start my adventures again, but I really don''t want to have to unlock so many races and classes again.

I am at a loss what can I do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Update:
I have been able to link my account to steam, but nothing is unlocked, and vault is empty.
I can see quite a few achievements on Steam (that include unlocking new races/classes), but are not recognized in character creation.
