Given the utility of a cat-point in Call of the Wild, have you considered the Adept prodigy for this sort of build?
ICCtW + Adept perhaps?

Re: 1.6.0 Breath Wyrmic Guide
The thing about adept is that every additional talent point matters less, and Wyrmics ideal items include a set of artifacts that already give 0.3 mastery to their wyrmic trees (kroltar + the eye of the wyrm mindstar both give talent mastery bonuses).Doctornull wrote:Given the utility of a cat-point in Call of the Wild, have you considered the Adept prodigy for this sort of build?

If you skip a prodigy, it should be ICCTW over Elemental Surge, I think. Elemental surge offers both extra damage and some very nice defensive effects (mini spine of the world effect for both physical and magical effects).
Yeah, 4/5 burrow is quite good even if you don't make much use out of the damage penetration.Dajawn wrote:3/5 static field will do 4k to elandar on turn 1 and taking psiblades would let it stick. Swallow is a good point dump, Venomous and Bellowing Roar would be better than 5/5ing sand breath since confusion and talent fail do stack and do do *something*. Of course 4/5 burrow is the single strongest investment in the class even after the chromatic fury change.Nevuk wrote: I go 5/5 two breaths, then get the rest to 3/5. End game though, what's better than points in them if you're going pure caster basically? Swallow and Lightning speed are the two I can think of for sure.
Honestly I forgot how bad Wyrmic's class talents were other than the trifecta even though I had played one not that long before posting so i'm sorry for going off on you like that.
So many things were fully immune to venomous late game or instantly purged it, which made it a bit awkward to use (and its damage isn't front loaded). If you use things in the right order it's good (after they purge) but I found it easier just to use them all. Static field is one I've played around with, but without psiblades it usually isn't going to stick reliably. Upon trying out wyrmics in 1.6.4, I've been holding off on leveling sand breath at all until after Elemental surge - you really only want sand breath since it reliably triggers your physical purge. Before it was nice since you could pick up a couple points as it's right by burrow which you get early anyways, but the EQ cost is too high to use it for such a weak dmg+effect now.
