https://te4.org/characters/224486/tome/ ... 6276ceb0f4 ! I basically just played the character as a psionist archer- sleep some things, shoot the rest, then shoot the sleepers. Inner Demons is good, but I swear that the chance for the inner demons to appear is *way* higher than what's listed in the ability. I also dipped a point into Artifice, for the free and instant sleep. Solipsism made me surprisingly tanky, as well. I couldn't really see a great way to make many of the other trees combo together well tbh. - I preferred staying out of melee range so I didn't want the melee-focused trees, and shooting vs casting beams seemed mutually redundant. I strongly considered taking Energy for the ability to remove sustains, but I frankly would have been dependent on too many attributes- I already heavily needed Dex/Will/Cunning plus some Str and Con, I couldn't afford to throw Magic into the mix as well.
Insane/Adventure mode win (with 2 deaths) for 8 points, this time I used some addons to speed up the starting scumming, but as I see these were acceptable in the previous weeks.
It's funny how many different ways people win this week: as an archer, as a staff-wielder or relying on high mindpower as I've done.
I played this like a worse Solipsist but with Rogue's Brew. Somehow this ended up being one of my best Insane runs and definitely my best Insane/Roguelike run. Blood of Life triggered in Maze when I got crit for ~600 damage when I had a mere 550 max health. I skipped half of Dreadfell because killing confusion immune enemies and/or dreadmasters took way too long. The Master was comparatively easy.
I love this weekly challenge idea, thanks for creating it. I decided to do psiblades with celestial combat on this run, which was surprisingly effective. Once I got arcane might, almost every mob went down in one or two hits.
Is there gonna be a new challenge this week? I know it's weird for me to ask, having finished none, but I really don't have that much time and I do enjoy them. Last week was Arcane Combat Staff Ghoul, he stomped ass through Old Forest and that was the last I played. Btw, do 1.6 runs count?
Insane Adventurer winner (for 8 elitism points) with 3 deaths. Played as a spellcaster, though made a silly mistake: I forgot that vim-based spells are considered heavily unnatural and they increase equilibrium whenever they are used, thus I had to spend lots of turns just waiting for replenishing equilibrium. Harmony and Corruption/Bone trees don't really like each other.
PS. At a certain point in the game I was thinking about using my prodigy point for Wordly Knowledge to open a useful tree. Would that be acceptable to open a new tree this way?
