I found a really odd effect: if you use mist shroud on a underwater tile it becomes a land tile that you can breath on.

See, now THAT'S the kind of things I want to hear!Hellcommander wrote:I found a really odd effect: if you use mist shroud on a underwater tile it becomes a land tile that you can breath on.

Well its only for the duration and it seems the other skill in burrow tree was weak for me before because i didn't get more power 5 str was enough to increase its damage alot. BTW most of the addons i have active are for more content (since i like modded games with lots of content).
Re: "Odyssey of The Summoner" is OUT!! Find it here...

Just as I was reading on the drakelings and about to post a question about how2dragonlord. T-thanks for punishing me with your psy-powers.
(Happened when I came out of the druid's home, I guess he hates me).

Did you have any add-ons? If so, list them to me so I can know.
Otherwise: AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@oliverrook
*** Incompatibilities:
- About "Glutton Mod"... Hmmm... I'll look into that at some point, but it's not a priority. Other add-ons have nothing to do with mine, and I don't intend to "encourage" compatibility with other ones until this one is actually out the door and in fresh waters (if you know what I mean)
- Same deal for "Enhanced Escorts"-- Especially since "OoTS" intends to change escorts itself, so this is not up for debate at all.
*** Bugs:
- The character creation screen thing is... a "minor" bug, so I haven't really paid it much mind. That is, there's bigger things to worry about than that for now!
- Please replicate the error-- And do so WITHOUT any extra add-ons.
*** Suggestion:
- I'm not sure how much more obvious I can make the next place you have to go, considering you are LITERALLY plopped right on top of it
Although, I'll admit: You might get the wrong idea, thinking that the zone you're standing on is exactly where you just came from--
As such... I think I'll change that then! New starting location! (if you've been playing "OoTS", you'll agree this new one makes A LOT more sense)

I had play over 50, but I JUST took it off for this game, seems a random-ass bug tbh.nekarcos wrote:@daed4

Also it's fine, Rawr~ the dragon became a family water-ice dragon and lived happily ever after.

Totally not a spoiler or anything (it is), but a certain water dragon would be MORE than happy to meet a fellow water-breathing dragon.

The "Road to Battlefield" area's entrance tooltip says the Min. Level is 30. This may discourage players from going there right after the tier 1 areas as they should.
Also, the Ritch's Predator Stance description mentions that only one 'stance' can be active at a time. I gave it a quick glance and there don't seem to be any others?

Ya, good point.
That was some remnant code I left behind after testing some things. I'll fix that right away.

Ok, seems the lore inspiration issue was an add on conflict. Aside from your qol1 addon and official DLC, I was only running two addons:ZOmnibus and Improved Auto-Explore and Rest .
Either one could be the culprit.
I don't have the time tonight to do individual tests and eliminate one of them, unfortunately, or I would.
I could live without ZOmnibus, mostly I like his inventory sort order better than the standard
Improved Auto-Explore and Rest is really nice for cutting down the real-time wait when resting, but... now that I think about it, a lot of that is facilitated by using healing/regen infusions and/or manasurge runes when and if the cooldown from using them would be less than the number of turns it would take your natural regen to restore the same amount. Considering the nature of this beast, I can probably live without that, too. No apologies for the terrible pun

Curious how an "improved rest" mod could be affecting something that triggers off of picking up lore...
Just try to find a replicatable situation and I'll be on the solution like a bear is to honey.

I have to ask, what is the obsession with not having any methods of reliable healing or regeneration, ever? The hydra I can see due to the natural regeneration, but the mantis is borderline unplayable early-game and almost never gets to the point where lifesteal becomes a reliable method of regenerating health.

I guess it's time for a little Public Service Announcement about "Instant Heals", the state of the current characters, and how I intended to "fix" them.
*** Why isn't there any "Instant Heals"...?!
The short answer: These classes all have a much higher "Maximum Life" than standard ToME characters, as well as VERY powerful, abusable mechanics. If you are the type of player who waits until they have 50% or less life before taking any threat seriously, you are going to suffer... A LOT.
*** The long answers, however...
- Hydra currently seems like the most powerful because I have not implemented most of the things that nerf it yet. Particularly, you won't be able to invest in various heads UNLESS you've already gotten talents from each of their respective trees (you can't get 4 Drool heads unless you have 4 Breath Hydra talents, etc...). Also, the level requirement for extra heads gets doubled (0, 8, 16, 24, 32 instead of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16).
- Fire Drake is a close second because its various heals through Fiery Breath and a bunch of companions that can ALSO meatshield for it. This class has the most defensive, damage-reducing capabilities, and behaves the most like a tank. Also, "Dragon Scales" can easily let you choose what aspect of the game you want to utterly trivialize ("Oh, Urkus's lightning is really annoying, so I'll get 5 Storm Drake Scales. Easy-Peasy!").
- Ritch appears to be daunting people because it behaves the most like a standard ToME character and does not have a very "obvious" healing mechanic like Hydra/Fire Drake. However, I STILL don't feel people are truly embracing its powerful tools or really being ingenuous with it yet. In my test runs, Stinger is absurdly broken and Firestarter gave me little reason to attack with my weapons unless the target was immune to fire.
*** That said...
Remember, I HAVE play tested ALL of these classes-- SEVERAL times-- and successfully won the game with each of them (albeit dying a few times along the way). At the very least, I can say there is, AT LEAST, one very effective, quite powerful way to play each of them, such that they will reliably reach end-game, and maybe even win as well.
However, my concern (in a power-balancing perspective) is making VARIOUS different methods of play a viable, game-winning strategy. The lazy, uninventive, completely BORING way of putting a quick bandage on this is by giving something ridiculous like "Push this button to heal 1000 of your life". Obviously, providing more conditionless healing would fix the problem-- Much in the same way you could make any Shakespearean book more interesting by including sci-fi, dragons, giant robots, and kung-fu ninjas.
*** I don't care. I NEED TO HEAL!!!
"Nature Taught" classes have to find "clever" ways of "conserving" or recovering their life, since they are more "survival" focused-- That is to say, being aware of dangers and AVOIDING injury in the first place is the key to success. This is why you have such a higher threshold of life compared to other characters. Heck, Monstrosities/Avatars, in general, have a better "Life Rating" than even an Ogre Berserker-- And this is because I want to create more leeway for making mistakes or seizing control of a situation.
*** Long Story shortened:
My feelings about people having a hard time with Ritch and an easy time with Hydra/Fire Drake... Hydra and Fire Drake's "clever healing" is much more obvious than Ritch's-- Ritch's "healing" mechanic is something called "Preventative Measures"-- or basically: "Kill them to death before they even touch you". Ritch has A TON of healing in the sense that it can deal with almost any type of threat without allowing the threat to even reach it.
Also-- "Scrap" is an INSANELY good "healing" talent, and I'm surprised nobody has brought that one up yet. This is why I'm CERTAIN nobody is truly experimenting with Ritch and are just waiting for some sort of obvious bandage to make it "easier". Sorry guys, Ritch, quite simply, is NOT easy, and I don't intend to make it any easier.
