Thalore Doomed - Insane Adventure, so close yet so far

First off, here's the link to the character.

I decided to retire this character at the final fight because I had horrible drops (only 83 mindpower with Superpower and 73 Str...) so my damage output was very low and I was unable to overcome the bosses' mental saves consistently. My gear was so bad that I usually have better items on Normal mode. If Elandar didn't have Arcane Reconstruction then maybe I would have had a chance, but I simple was unable to do enough damage to overcome his healing. I died twice then gave up. Pretty lame way to end the run, but at least I didn't lose all my lives. ToME is more about the journey than the end anyway, and this character had a hell of a journey.

This is my character at level 50. It doesn't say but both prodigy points were unspent. Also I refunded four points from Merge and three points from Gesture of Pain to take this screenshot. Originally this was because I didn't know what to put points in since I didn't really understand the class (I still don't really) but it became fun to see how far I could get without spending my points. Turns out the answer is pretty far, since I didn't spend these points until the Slime Tunnels and High Peak. Thanks to my Shadows and Gesture of Guarding (nerf pls), I never felt in any real danger. Two of my deaths occurred before the final fight and they were because I made abnormally bad decisions in my sleep-deprived state. The first was at level 38 in Vor Armory when I dropped Nature's Pride in the middle of the boss room, aggroing 90% of it including the boss. The second was because I just didn't notice my health was low, I had Heroism and all my heals off cooldown so I should never have died there. That one happened at level 48 in Grushnak Pride.

Since I'm the only one who actually likes Advanced Shadowmancy out of all the people who tried it on Insane, I'd like to point out that it's much better than people give it credit for. Shadow's Path and Cursed Bolt are your second and third best damage talents respectively (after Unseen Force), Stone is a taunt, and Merge reduces damage output by 48% with 100% uptime if you use it on cooldown. Merge and Stone especially trivialized the Pride bosses.

Kinda puzzled by you having low mindpower with Superpower but having two unspent prodigy points?

I realize now I worded that poorly. I spent everything right before the Slime Tunnels and High Peak. My Mindpower was in the 70s until then.
